“Shadowed” : Weekly Photo Challenge

I decided to enter this weeks photo challenge. The image I chose is of my daughter. I was playing around with lighting one day, this was about a year ago, I think. I had one piece of white foam board on one side of her, and another behind her. She was sitting on the floor in front of an arm-chair, so I just propped the board up and sat her in front of it. I held the other board up with my free hand. I had a tripod, so I used it to steady my camera. I also had a diffuser attached to the speed-flash. I guess what I was doing was more playing around with bouncing light. Anyway, what ever my idea was this particular day, I got some pretty cool shots. I particularly like the shadow in this shot. It already has a kind of somber feel to it and the shadow seems to deepen that feeling for me. Is it the shadow, or not? would it feel the same if there were no shadow? Wish I would have tried it 😉
